No appointment is needed for most alterations. Just stop by during shop hours. For wedding dresses and formalwear, please call or text before you come in: Downtown at 828-232-2229, or Skyland at 828-280.0130. That way we'll have enough staff on hand to give the bride-to-be our full attention. Please note that wedding dresses have a non-refundable consultation and fitting fee of $150.

Holiday closures are posted on our Google listing ahead of time.

We accept cash, checks, major credit cards, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal. Orders over $100 must be paid in full at drop-off; all other orders are paid at pickup. For wedding dresses, a $150 consultation and fitting fee is paid up front (non-refundable and separate from your alterations total); then a 50% deposit is due once we agree on your alterations, and the balance is paid at pickup.

Absolutely! There are two reasons:Keeping every garment fresh. Clean items protect everyone's clothing in the shop from dirt, odors, and stains.Avoiding surprise shrinkage. New items made of cotton, denim, wool, silk, or other fabrics that can shrink need to go through the wash first. We've seen jeans shrink a full inch after hemming, and nobody wants "high waters" when they expected the perfect length!When you drop off, we'll ask whether your items have been washed, so please wash them first so your alterations fit just right.

Yes! Both of our shops have fitting rooms, so we can pin and measure you right there for the best fit. If you'd prefer to bring your items already pinned, that's fine too. Just keep in mind that we'll alter them exactly as pinned, and you're responsible for those measurements.​

No. Items need to be picked up from the location where they were dropped off. If you'd like more flexibility, our Concierge Service can bring your items straight to you at an extra cost (see below).​

Yes! Whoever picks up just needs to bring your yellow ticket.

Absolutely! Gift certificates make a great present for the holidays, birthdays, or a bride-to-be. Just ask at either location.

Yes, from time to time! We hand out 10% off coupons at local events, and we're always happy to honor them. Just bring yours in when you drop off. Wedding parties of five or more receive 10% off alterations for the bridal party (the bride's gown is not included). We also offer discounts on other bulk orders, so ask us about pricing for larger jobs like uniforms.
